Are you a high-achieving student and leader intent on securing a place in a graduate program overseas?
The experience of studying abroad at some of the world’s most coveted academic institutions is an experience like no other.
Our benefactor Paul Ramsay wanted to support young Australian leaders in their pursuit of this opportunity, so they could realise their goals and make their own unique contribution to Australian society.
Our World Universities Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship supports young Australians to undertake graduate study at the world’s best universities (e.g. Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Harvard, Princeton, Bologna etc.) for one, two and, in select cases, three years of graduate coursework and/or research.
Levels of support are fully competitive with the Rhodes, John Monash, Fulbright and other major scholarships.
Value: AUD$85,000 p.a.
The scholarship covers living and tuition fees and other related expenses.
Students applying for the scholarship will need to have secured a place in a graduate program abroad before finalising their application.
Please note that the scholarships are not awarded for undergraduate study, medical research, post-doctoral research, or any other research appointment.
They are not ordinarily available for part-time study or for Executive Education programs.
The first scholars will commence study in 2021.

The Ramsay Centre was established in March 2017 through an extraordinary endowment by the late Mr Paul Ramsay AO. The Centre’s objective, set out in our Board charter, is “to advance education by promoting studies and discussion associated with the establishment and development of western civilisation, including through establishing scholarship funds and educational courses in partnership with universities.”
To this end we have forged partnerships to offer western civilisation degrees and related scholarship programs with the University of Wollongong and the University of Queensland. Students commenced studies at both of these partner universities this year.
We have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Australian Catholic University to negotiate terms for a similar partnership to commence in 2021.
We will also be endowing a number of national Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarships, open to recent Australian graduates from a range of academic disciplines, for study at prestigious overseas universities, commencing in 2021.
In addition to these tertiary opportunities, the Centre runs a program of Summer Schools, symposia, lectures and other events designed to promote a wider appreciation of western civilisation.
