At Tyndale Christian School we actively encourage every person to belong rather than attend, to become a part of the community and a part of the family. One of the main choices we face in life is whether we will be spectators or participants, and this is no different when it comes to schooling – for parents, staff and students. At Tyndale Christian School our Vision, Mission, Core Purpose, Statement of Faith and Core Values underpin who we are and why we outwork our business in the manner in which we do.
Tyndale Christian School is named after William Tyndale, one of the early translators of the Bible into English. Just as William Tyndale was determined that everyone should have access to the Bible in their own language, our School is determined to provide a high quality, holistic Christian education at affordable rates so it is accessible to everyone.
Our School was established over 30 years ago by Christian parents wanting their children educated in an environment that would support their family values and faith. These foundational sentiments are still our focus today, as we are intentional about providing an excellent, inclusive, Christian education that equips our students to serve God and His world.
We are an independent, co-educational, inter-denominational Christian school that commenced in 1983 with 137 students from Reception to Year 7 and 10 staff. Whilst the land had been purchased at London Drive, Salisbury East (now our Middle School entrance) and four transportable classrooms ordered, the students attended Salisbury Baptist Church in an old house on the property for the first year.
At Tyndale Christian School the curriculum provides:
Information Literacy, Communication Technologies and Research Skills are integrated into the curriculum across all learning areas.
In addition to this, all curriculum and interactions with students at Tyndale Christian School are informed by our Christian world view. A Christian world view is one where the world is seen from the context of a person existing to love and serve God who is the creator and sustainer of the world. This Christian world view is not taught just as a formal subject but as a vital element in shaping the way students think and respond to how they will live in today’s society. The Bible informs the Christian worldview and must be used as the point of reference.
