With UAE based Edtech Trusity being the headquarters for UK’s International STREAM Olympiads, the learning platform has successfully collaborated with over 40 schools in the region for the world’s largest project-based Olympiads program the “Top 100 Champions”. The annual competition for students in the fields of Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics provides a global platform for children from different curriculums to participate and represent their country at an international level. With its presence in over 120 plus countries and a team of more than 350 academicians, ISO collaborates with 5,000-plus schools and 100-plus universities in the world. The annual competition winners will be felicitated at a chosen host country every year. As it stands, the conference is set to take place in Manchester, UK in December 2021. UAE will be the host country of the prestigious competition in 2022.
“International STREAM Olympiads (ISO) evolved and revolves around the quote, ‘I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand,’ by Confucius. Students are curious by nature and through our project-based Olympiads, we wish to ignite the different kinds of curiosities in learners. With the hugely positive response received from students in the UAE, we look forward to giving them an international platform where they will see concepts from their textbooks come to life through their own hands. The students can also look ahead to various learning avenues in the form of scholarships, learning opportunities, and prizes being provided by the International STREAM Olympiads” – said Anthony Lee McDermott, international relations at ISO, UK Headquarters.
While stimulating the interest of students in STREAM education, the programme enables them to perform and compete with international students, be inspired by new techniques, and strengthen their profiles for better career prospects.
“We are happy to have received an overwhelming response for ISO’s STREAM Olympiads. With over 2000+ children taking part in the competition, we will be supporting their journey in developing projects that can help build a better future. We have identified amazing potential during the free training and evaluation sessions. Children of the current generation are driven by project-based learning as it fosters creativity and innovation. It helps them take charge of their own learning process and use it to the best of their ability. This approach enables children to also develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities as it puts them in search of solutions for real-life problems” – said Lourd Johnson Fernando, director of business development, Trusity.
