At Orley Farm we pride ourselves in providing a challenging environment to stimulate and develop lively and enquiring minds. We encourage all pupils to reach their true potential and eventually become individuals who value learning with and from others, as a life-long process. Independence of thought and action is encouraged, together with application, perseverance and initiative.
The curriculum is broad-based in order to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge, promote enjoyment in learning and to provide skills to equip students for their next school and further. We aim for our pupils to enter the rapidly-changing world of work and leisure as active and confident participants.
Everyone at Orley Farm works to create an atmosphere in which pupils feel secure and valued and encouraged to progress academically and socially. We try to develop in them a sense of moral values, especially respect for others and their property, which will enable them to become responsible and considerate members of any community.
Parents are welcomed into the school and their varied contributions greatly appreciated. We have always fostered close relationships with the local community and endeavour, at all times, to maximise the advantages of the school’s attractive location and to address the particular needs of children who live in suburban London.
Our Aims
Children and staff throughout the whole school have together agreed the values shown below. At Orley Farm School we aim to:
Treat others as they expect to be treated,Forgive,Share,Listen,Be honest with ourselves and others,Be kind and helpful,Do our best to be our best selves.
We are extremely fortunate to have a wonderful 36 acre site so close to the opportunities and sights that London has to offer. With purpose built, well-equipped and modern facilities, Orley Farm continues to invest to ensure its environment is stimulating and inspiring for the pupils and staff to learn in.
We were very aware of the sentiments of this very famous student who studied at Harrow in his former years! Orley Farm School has recently completed a 7 year building programme investing £9.2 million around people. We are all too aware that Prep Schools can be fooled into building shiny new facilities assuming that this will somehow answer questions about the future. The past 7 years has been about building a state mind in which learning is all about the buzz! Whilst many schools closed libraries, we tripled the size of ours! We have doubled our provision for Music and Drama opening the Elliott Music and Drama Schools.
