Newton Primary School

We are fortunate to have a range of resources within our community which help us maximise and enhance the learning experiences of our pupils; the beach, woodland area, duck pond and playing fields to name a few. We believe that happiness and wellbeing are the beginning of a child’s learning journey and we are pleased to provide a positive ethos which is a happy, safe, secure and stimulating learning environment in which all members of our school community can develop their potential and grow in self-esteem.

The National Categorisation System helps identify those schools in Wales in need of the most support. Under this system, schools are assessed on both their performance and their ability to improve.

All schools in Wales have be allocated one of four colours with green representing the top performing schools, yellow for good schools, amber for schools in need of improvement and red for schools in need of the most improvement. We are delighted that we have continued to be judged to be a Green School for the last three years. This is the highest rating and means that we have been judged to be;

"A highly effective school which is run well, has strong leadership and is clear about its priorities for improvement. These schools have a track record in delivering excellent outcomes for their pupils and have the capacity to support other schools to do better."
