"When we introduce a young woman to the future and suggest to her that her mind can conceive it, her hands can mold it, and her heart can enfold it, we make for a better world." More than fifty years ago Louisville was founded by the Sisters of St. Louis as a Catholic High School for young women. Today the school is still sponsored by the Sisters and governed by a two-tier Board of Directors and the Sisters of St. Louis as Member.

From the beginning, Louisville has maintained a tradition of excellence based on Gospel values. Guided by the mission of the Sisters of St. Louis, we strive ”to become agents of change, transforming unjust structures, promoting peace and reconciliation and the integrity of creation." Being conscious of the times in which we live, Louisville continues to educate the young women of today with the same excellence experienced by all those who have succeeded before them. When we introduce a young woman to the future and suggest to her that her mind can conceive it, her hands can mold it, and her heart can enfold it, we make for a better world.

Louisville has something to offer its students that is unparalleled and rare. In today’s fast-paced world with its conflicting values, Louisville provides an environment of learning and growing that teaches possibilities with compassion - preparing its students for life’s opportunities and challenges.

Our graduates attend some of the top universities and colleges in the United States. Louisville grads are doctors, lawyers, educators, business professionals, lay and religious. They are wives, mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters and friends. Watch and read about the influence Louisville has had on their lives.

As a Catholic high school, Louisville educates young women in a vibrant, supportive learning community guided by the mission of the Sisters of St Louis to “work toward a world healed, unified and transformed.” Challenging academics and caring faculty empower each student to develop her confidence, integrity and faith to meet the needs of an ever-changing world.

Areas of such development also include self-identity, responsible use of freedom, and courageous self-expression.

As the primary educators of their daughters, parents and guardians partner with faculty and staff in the educational process. Louisville’s supportive all-girl environment empowers our students to explore new challenges and realize their potential by striving for excellence in broad curricular and co-curricular areas.

At Louisville young women grow to become moral decision makers, to assume an attitude open to change and growth and to make choices of integrity in all areas of human experience. The school community fosters an enduring reverence for nature, an increasing respect for all peoples and their beliefs, a growing involvement in the quest for human rights, and a heightened awareness of the roles of women in the world.

Louisville High School provides each of its students with a strong, carefully developed college-preparatory curriculum. All-girls schools have a research-proven advantage for teenage girls. According to a recent UCLA study, graduates demonstrate higher levels of academic engagement, SAT scores and confidence in mathematical ability and computer skills than co-ed grads.

Louisville prepares its students for the time and the world in which they live and the questions the world asks of them. By requiring students to think and apply what they have learned, the school provides its graduates with a strong academic foundation and skills that will serve them well in college and beyond. The supportive and challenging academic climate of the school serves to encourage excellence in its students and to foster a lifelong intellectual curiosity.

Louisville students are offered over $5 million in college scholarships each year, and attend colleges and universities as diverse as our students. From the Ivy League to the Pac 12, our alumnae are preparing for careers in fields like biomedical engineering, film-making and law. Some are competing in NCAA athletics while others are acting in New York City. They are living out the inspiration they found at Louisville through their peers and their teachers.

My daughter has had an amazing experience at Louisville High School in Los Angeles. The American curriculum has provided her with a well-rounded education. The dedicated staff has been incredibly helpful and supportive throughout her journey. I am so proud of the progress she has made.
