Reception Applications

Applications are now closed to apply for a reception place for your child to start in September . A late application can still be made via the link below or contact the school office for support

Reception late applications
If your child is due to start Reception in September the official closing date for applications is 15th January . If you have missed the closing date you can submit a late application from 16th January .

Process for late applications

Forms received after 18th January but before 20th March
Preference forms received after the closing date will be considered as late applications unless there is a valid reason for the application being late e.g. change of address, change in a medical condition or exceptional circumstances.

We will continue to process late applications and send the information to schools and other local authorities. However, schools and local authorities may have late application policies which means that applications received on time will be given priority over late applications.

Forms received after 20th March

• Late applications with a valid reason will be placed on a waiting list if the school is oversubscribed.
• Late applications without a valid reason will be considered after those applications considered on time.
• If the school has places available the child will be offered a place at that school.

Submit a late application
You can submit a late application for a Reception place online below when the late application window opens from 16th January .

You will be asked to choose 3 schools. If you live in Liverpool but want to name a school in another local authority area, select 'Non-Liverpool school' from the dropdown menu and enter the name of the school.

If you want your application to be considered under exceptional social or medical grounds or other criteria you will be prompted to upload copies of any proof documents to support your application. This can be a photograph or copy of a document.The total combined size of any files you upload should not exceed 15MB.

Remember, you will also need to send any supplementary information forms directly to schools that require them. These are normally required by faith schools.Application forms are available to download directly from school websites.

Step By Step Guide Of The School Admission Protocol

• Log on to www.liverpool.gov.uk/admissions
• Set up a parental account – you will need a valid email address and password to register.
• To activate your account you will receive an email with a link to validate your registration. Click on this link to complete the registration process.
• Enter your childs details.
• Select up to 3 schools in the order of your preference
• Select the criteria relevant to your application. This could include Sibling, Faith, Medical/Social needs.
• Submit Application

Applying for a Year 7 place
Please see Transfer from Primary to Secondary School booklet for all information on the application process. The schools which require you to complete a school application form will be clearly shown at liverpool.gov.uk/admissions. It is important that if required you complete a supplementary school application form. These forms can be downloaded at liverpool.gov.uk/admissions or obtained from the school. They must be returned to the school and not sent to the local authority. Please check school websites for further information and open evenings.
