Welcome to Ipswich High School, a vibrant day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 5-18, set in an idyllic 87-acre campus in Woolverstone on the banks of the River Orwell. With approximately 450 pupils, everyone at Ipswich High School is well known and nobody is left out. We have small classes of hard-working pupils and inspirational teachers who help to instill a love of learning; the results of which are exceptional academic outcomes year-on-year.
We are just as ambitious outside of the classroom and pride ourselves on the huge breadth of our co-curricular programme as well as offering a home-from-home boarding environment in our stunning newly developed boarding house.
Above all, our ambition is not to make our pupils fit a pre-defined view of what they should be. We believe in getting to know every pupil and using our school to inspire them to achieve more than they previously thought possible and to leave us believing there are no limits to what they can achieve, for themselves and for others.
The Ipswich High School vision is to provide an exceptional education and experience for every individual.
Pupils and staff inspire, encourage and challenge one another in an inclusive and stimulating school community. An Ipswich High School education provides the skills, knowledge and understanding for every pupil to become a happy, successful and caring member of society.
Our ethos is to put the happiness and success of each pupil at the heart of everything we do.
We value the individual, providing opportunities for growth and nurturing interests, encouraging every pupil to be bold and to be themselves. Our pupils are aged 3 to 18 and we tailor our Diamond Model approach to the distinct needs of every individual.
