The International School of Modena is entering an extremely exciting phase in its history, This year the school celebrates its twentieth anniversary as a school, and the tenth anniversary at the beautiful, and ever-improving, Montale campus, deep in the Modena countryside. This year, will also be opening up our state of the art Performing Arts Centre, canteen with internal kitchen, and rooftop sports facilities for Secondary students. Our science laboratories are fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and we also boast carefully designed on-site spaces which support the delivery of our Reggio-Inspired Early Years Curriculum, a superbly stocked library, as well as dedicated studios for visual arts and music.

We have also recently celebrated the excellent IB Diploma results of our first cohort of graduating students, who attained an impressive average of 36 points, including one particular lifelong IS Modena student, who managed to attain the maximum 45 out of 45. Our Italian students are prepared to sit their Quinta Elementare and Terza Media examinations with us, invariably achieving fantastic results. Technology features in our classrooms in a blended approach, adding value to teaching and learning and supporting more traditional methods.

In addition, a new wing completely dedicated to the IB Diploma Programme has now been added to our school complex.

An IB education provides opportunities to develop both disciplinary and interdisciplinary understanding that meet rigorous standards set by institutions of higher learning around the world. IB programmes offer curriculum frameworks and courses that are broad and balanced, conceptual and connected. The IS Group has an excellent track record in using group dynamics, innovative teaching techniques and tools that are updated continuously.

Our newly constructed, purpose built facility provides ample space for teaching and learning. Classrooms are bright, spacious and well resourced. All classrooms have one computer that is used together with an up-to-date computer suite and a set of laptops which can access the wireless network throughout the school. The art laboratory provides space and inspiration for all students. The science laboratory and the design and technology room house the materials needed for essential hands-on learning.

The multi-media library offers the latest children’s literature, non-fiction books and computer software. A beautiful domed auditorium provides space for music classes as well as dramatic productions, displays and meetings. The state of the art gymnasium is equipped with facilities for basketball, volleyball and a host of other sports activities. The large playground behind the school is ideal for playing, outdoor sports and open-air learning activities.
