With a standard of excellence dating back to 1856, Hermannsburg is the country’s oldest co-educational school, and the very first boarding school in Natal. Founded by German missionaries, Hermannsburg’s rich heritage is preserved throughout the campus.

With a focus on positive education and the well-being of the individual, our scholars are taught the skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing world.

Our Pre-school programme is designed to give our “Little Oaks” the freedom to grow in a safe, caring and nurturing environment. With a well-rounded curriculum that encourages development towards a strong sense of self-worth, individuality and independence.

We pride ourselves on giving our young scholars an opportunity to find and develop their interests in fun group-learning environments. With small classes and a focus on bringing out the best in ourselves and others, our Primary School is the perfect place to start your adventure.

At our High School, we provide a positive and safe environment where the well-being of scholars is supported. We’re fortunate to have two contracted professionals, committed to supporting our scholars in scholar support programmes – with a focus on early-intervention in our Pre-school and in the Foundation phase.
