We are a very happy and successful school in Colindale and have been serving the Catholic community for nearly 50 years. We were judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in our most recent Inspection and the Lead Inspector noted how the ‘…balance of excellent care and guidance and academic challenge..’ has resulted ‘…in all year groups making outstanding progress’ (June 2019).
Our wide and varied curriculum is carefully planned to reflect current events. Recently, the whole school was immersed in a local study topic to coincide with our move to our brand new school.
We provide the opportunity for pupils to achieve their full potential in a spiritual, academic and moral climate that is based on the Gospel Values. Our culturally diverse school is an integral part of the local community and is known for its warmth and friendliness and its desire to do the very best for the children in our care.
Our ultimate goal is to instil in our children a love of learning and a passion for life itself. We hope that this in turn will ensure that children leave Blessed Dominic School as well rounded individuals who are fully equipped to deal with the opportunities and challenges that they will face in the future.
At Blessed Dominic Catholic Primary School, we pride ourselves on being a culturally diverse family. We seek to instil, in every child that we nurture, the joy and wonder of learning.
As we journey together in Christ, we develop children’s resilience, intellectual curiosity and creativity through our positive learning behaviours. We nurture and cherish the unique talents of all children, empowering them to flourish and grow into life-long learners. Our mission is to show love, promote learning and belief in God our Father.
It is extremely important that we keep our children safe and secure at all times. In order to do this we have a variety of systems in place in which we ask parents to support and fully adhere to at all times.
All schools have a duty to protect children from the risk of radicalisation by promoting fundamental British Values and by enabling children to challenge extremist views in a safe and secure environment.
As a school community we are mindful of our responsibility to promote and actively seek the inclusion of all members of society. All staff at Blessed Dominic have completed the Prevent Training which aims to ensure that early warning signs are picked up and acted upon.
