Have you considered your options and next steps? If you are thinking about improving your skills and employability through undertaking postgraduate study, we want to help you by making the option of postgraduate study more affordable to our alumni and graduating students.
We are therefore offering a 10% tuition fee discount for graduates of Warwick accepted onto selected postgraduate masters level courses.
Self-funded (self-paying) definition
You are considered to be a self-funded or self-paying student if you are financing your studies with your own savings or if you are receiving financial assistance from family or friends. If you take out a student loan to cover the cost of your studies you are also considered to be self-funded.
You are not self-funded if your fees are being paid by your employer or a third party (other than family and friends) or if you are in receipt of a study grant or scholarship external to the University.
Availability
The 10% fee discount is being introduced for full-time postgraduate masters level courses for 2020 entry and will be available for subsequent academic years.
There are no closing dates and Warwick graduates do not need to apply for the discount.
Additional Scholarship opportunities
The 10% fee discount will be applied in addition to any other University of Warwick scholarships and awards offered, except the Warwick Graduate Award Scheme 2020, in which case the award of highest value will be given.
You might be eligible for additional funding toward your masters level study through the Warwick Taught Masters Scholarship Scheme as well. This scheme is for UK domiciled students only. It supports access to masters level study for up to 50 students per year who are from demographic groups which are under-represented in postgraduate education.
Our academic departments also offer a range of Scholarship opportunities to support students from a range of backgrounds. Please see your course page for details of these schemes.
Payment
As long as you meet the criteria detailed above, the 10% discount will be applied against the tuition fee on your student account.
The 10% tuition fee discount will be available to Warwick graduates who have Home/EU or Overseas fee status. You must be a graduate of Warwick at any level of qualification.
You must be self-funding and have no other source of financial support from outside of the University of Warwick other than a student loan. You will not be eligible if you are a student sponsored by or holding a scholarship from an external organisation.
You are eligible for the 10% discount as long as you identify on your application that you have a qualification from the University.
Some course restrictions apply, including our PGCE and MBChB courses. You can see whether your course is eligible on your chosen course page.
Our vision is to be a world-class university – one with a dynamic, enterprising approach to solving global challenges; one that enables students to create their place in the world; one that defines the university of tomorrow. So, what does our future hold? Our current strategy lays out the following goals:
Warwick has made outstanding progress in a very short time. We’ve secured a unique reputation through our ability to combine excellence, creativity and intellectual rigour with agility, professionalism and sustainability. Of course, the next decade will present very different opportunities and challenges to those we’ve faced so far, but our commitment to securing Warwick’s position as a leading global higher education institution remains undimmed. We are proud to fulfil our social obligations to educate, work at the frontiers of knowledge and inculcate enlightenment values. Our university is also committed, in a way that few others are, to generating economic growth for our city, region and the broader national economy in ways that will create more employment, educational opportunities, and resources. It is clear, however, that the current UK university business model is under stress; it cannot continue in its current form.
We are continuing to develop new international partnerships. All of our activities are underpinned by excellence, be it in teaching or research. Our international partnership funds support our staff to foster such international collaborations. our students have a real chance to stand out in the international world of work and research, gain a global perspective and develop the intercultural skills to be a truly positive force in today’s global society. Students can choose to take part in several initiatives including language cafés; mixed nationality group work; and study, work or volunteering abroad. Environmental Sustainability is a core value of the University. Our holistic ambition is to make the University of Warwick a leader in sustainability education and an example of sustainable living enhancing both the student and staff experience. We’ve already taken the following steps towards making the campus greener, Reducing carbon emissions per unit of income by 30% since 2005/6. Constant work to improve the energy efficiency of the existing buildings on campus, and high energy-efficiency standards for new buildings.
