Our students are at the forefront of all of our decisions. We are proud of the strides that we have made toward providing them with a most exceptional learning environment.
In all areas—academic, student life, campus beautification, athletics, and more—we have made improvements and enhancements to our facilities and programs. Our work is never done, and we want to continue to make improvements to our beautiful campus to further our Institutional mission of “guiding students to succeed through personal instruction and intellectual inquiry.”
From our students to our faculty and staff and the Board of Trustees, our campus community is inspiring. The traditions established by our alumni and friends are strong. The projects that are ahead of us are both challenging and exciting.
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning oversees campus-wide assessment efforts, strategic planning, and accreditation processes. Working collaboratively with faculty and staff, the office uses the information and data gathered through these processes to inform institutional decision making, program development, and quality improvement initiatives.
The Missouri Valley College Viking Learning Academy provides service learning, experiential learning, practicum and internship opportunities for multiple academic fields, while also providing quality child care to the Missouri Valley College and Marshall communities.
If you really want to experience what Missouri Valley College has to offer, come visit us! Walk around the campus. Talk to students and faculty. Get a feel for what we do every day. You’ll see why Vikings call MVC their second home.
You will find that MVC is a community that cares about the development of its students and that your engagement in the classroom, and in extracurricular activities, support both your satisfaction and success as a Viking. Our international office is filled with helpful people who will guide you through your college journey.
With over 30 majors to choose from, you will receive a personalized education in the field of your choice. You will have the opportunity to make an impact on campus and become a leader by getting involved with our hands on learning and our numerous campus organizations.

If you’re committed to your education, we’re committed to helping you pay for it. With more than 37% of our students among the first generation in their families to attend college, we understand that paying for college can seem daunting for everyone involved. That’s why approximately 98% of our students receive some form of tuition assistance, through grants, scholarships, and federal and state aid.
Here at Valley, we understand that learning occurs just as much outside of the classroom as it does inside the classroom.
With offerings like a nursing simulation lab, on campus television and radio studios, and the Viking Learning Academy, there are numerous opportunities to experience hands on learning right here. You can also take part in the annual biology trip to Belize, obtain an internship, or study abroad if you are interested in hands on learning opportunities away from campus.
Valley students have gone abroad to China, London, Northern Ireland, Russia, Spain and more! No matter where they go, they come back to Valley with a new perspective of the world and of themselves. What about you? Where would you like to go? Spend a semester in Japan, Argentina, France, Italy, or nearly any other country you could name. Twice a year, a number of our students participate in the Student Research Symposium with submissions of original research, reviews, scholarly essays, creative writing, performance, film and original artwork. Our students may submit a proposal for one presentation, performance or poster to showcase during the symposium. During the symposium, outstanding student work is recognized with three awards for excellence in undergraduate student research.
