The King’s University (TKU) is an accredited, Spirit-empowered, evangelical university with branch campuses and teaching sites in multiple U.S. cities. TKU offers students a complete educational experience by combining higher education with practical ministry experience within dynamic local churches. This complete educational experience prepares and equips students to serve in the local church, the marketplace and around the world.
With more than 700 students University-wide, and more than 400 students at the Southlake campus in DFW, TKU’s dynamic learning environment and Spirit-empowered community enable its students to learn, develop skills and talents, and grow in relationships with fellow students, faculty, and with the Lord.
As a Spirit-filled evangelical institution of higher education, The King’s is dedicated to the preparation of men and women for effective leadership and Christ-like servanthood in the global community.
In harmony with the missions and institutional purposes of the school, The King’s expects certain outcomes to be demonstrated by its graduates. These foundational outcomes are enlarged upon by the specific measurable objectives articulated in each academic program offered by the institution. The combination of these institutional objectives for each student and the specific objectives for each academic program provides a basis for assessing a student’s progress and the institution’s effectiveness in fulfilling its mission.

The Office of Student Financial Services at The King’s University is committed to helping you understand all of the resources available to fund your education. Financial Aid is available to assist those qualified students who desire to attend The King’s, but may lack the financial means to do so. The primary responsibility for financing an education belongs to the student and his/her family. Financial Aid is based upon need. Need is defined as the difference between the cost of attending The King’s and the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) toward the cost. The “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” (FAFSA) is the form from which the EFC is calculated. It’s never too early to begin exploring financial aid options. We encourage future and current students to start investigating as soon as possible. Students must demonstrate eligibility to receive financial aid.
An essential part of the learning experience for every full-time undergraduate student at The King’s University is the opportunity to serve in one or more specific ministry area(s) within a local church. These Ministry Training programs are designed to provide in-depth participation in dynamic areas of ministry at Gateway Church, for students at the TKU main campus, or other associated local churches for students attending a TKU branch campus. This “hands-on” experience serves as a vital training ground for any student seeking vocational ministry. Each TKU undergraduate student will participate in weekly involvement in the life and ministries of the church.
TKU Student Life is committed to providing a vibrant atmosphere for students to connect with God and each other. Whether eating lunch in the café, worshipping in chapel, or participating in intramural sports, there are countless opportunities to develop meaningful relationships within a Christ-centered community.
Reaching out to people in our community and around the world is of great importance to us here at The King’s University. We take groups throughout the year to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ and show His love to those in need. These trips are designed to provide opportunities for student to join in efforts locally, nationally, and internationally. Missions both locally and internationally not only transform the people that are served, but through serving and giving of time, your heart is changed as well.
