Established in 2003 through UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand , UPES is an UGC recognized and NAAC accredited University. UPES offers specialized B.Tech, BBA, B.A, , B.Des, LL.B courses at undergraduate level and M.Tech, MBA, M.A, LLM programs at post-graduate level. These courses cater to high-growth areas like cloud computing, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics engineering, fine arts, big data analytics, public administration, machine design engineering, computer science, petroleum, graphic and gaming and many more.
UPES campus in Dehradun, which is amongst the most beautiful campuses in India, sprawls over 44 acres with world class academic infrastructure, multimedia enabled classrooms, modern research labs, playing fields, food courts, hostels and other facilities for all curricular and extra-curricular activities of students. UPES faculty comprises of over 500 national and international faculty members. Be it the world acclaimed lecturers/ professors or senior professionals from globally renowned organizations, UPES has empanelled some of the most respected academicians and industry experts. At UPES we take employability of our graduates very seriously and it shows in our placement figures. In 2017 we placed 91% of graduates who were eligible and opted for placements. QS- Qacquarelli Symonds, which is a reputed global ranking system, has awarded 5 stars to UPES for placements and campus infrastructure and 4 stars for teaching.
UPES has MoUs and associations with leading organizations like IBM, L&T, Xebia, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Philips Carbon Black and many more. The major thrust of these collaborations is to facilitate curriculum inputs, guest lectures, internships opportunities and joint research and projects to build strong industry-academia connect. In little over a decade, UPES has expanded its reach across the globe by entering into international academic collaborations with 40 partners in 18 countries. These collaborations are in form of joint seminars, faculty exchange programs, joint research, review of PhD theses and mutual exchange of scientific publications.

My daughter went to UPES to pursue in Engineering. All in all I can say that UPES has really made a difference in her career. I want to thank the faculty and authorities who have done a great job in shaping my child’s career. She’s working in a really good brand and is earning way beyond that I imagined. 4 years at UPES and I’ve never seen her this happy with her choice.

UPES is the most interesting place to kickstart your career. I’m currently studying B.Des in UPES and I’m having a gala time here. Faculty is really good and even the facilities are top-notch. I saw the seniors getting placed in really good companies. Also, UPES is in Dehradun, which is a really good place to study if you’re serious about your career.

I’ve completed by M Tech in Automation & Robotics Engineering from UPES and I’ve to say that it’s the most underrated university with a lot of potential. I’m thankful to the faculty for teaching me in the most interesting ways and I feel lucky to be a part of UPES family. After completing my M Tech, I got placed in a very good company and with an excellent package. Almost all students in M Tech batch were placed decently. Everything I learned at UPES, I use it at my job on a daily basis. The university has opened many avenues for me and I’m looking forward in my career. Overall, if you want an edge in your career, come to UPES.

My experience with UPES has been a true learner's experience. I started my career as a normal engineer, delivering daily shift duties & just focussing on my work related to Plant maintainance but after my enrollment in the course my outlook towards Oil & Gas industry took a leap with me now I am also concerned towards what is happening around the world & how more energy secure nations are going forward & what scpoe the entire scenario holds for India. It was my transition from an onlooker to being admist the situation. Exam conduction & assessment techniques adopted by UPES is one of the best, since evaluators mark for content. Transition from Paper to Paperless mode of conducting exam was another good move of CCE UPES as it is beneficial for all working professionals. New innovative technologies for exam conduction deserve applause.

So many memories of UPES are still alive. I pursued MBA in Oil and Gas Management and I’m truly thankful for everyday that I’ve spent here learning. UPES has provided me with so many opportunities to be better in my career. I got placed in one of the top companies and since then been doing really well.
