Macquarie Christian Studies Institute

Macquarie Christian Studies Institute (MCSI) is a teaching and learning, research, professional development and continuing education community within the evangelical Christian tradition. In all of its activities, MCSI seeks to equip men and women with the knowledge, life perspectives, values and vocational skills necessary to integrate Christian convictions and experience with the diverse contexts and challenges of personal, public and professional life.

As a part of its mission, and through its affiliation with Macquarie University, MCSI provides units and courses of study into the academic programs of Macquarie University. All MCSI units are accredited by Macquarie University and can be applied toward its degrees. MCSI units and programs are designed to help students (i) better understand the Christian faith, (ii) explore the implications of biblical teaching for life, relationships and work, and (iii) integrate Christian values, perspectives, and commitments with the particular vocational arenas for which students of the university are preparing.

MCSI is committed, like the University itself, to the investigation, transmission, analysis and increase of knowledge. To this, in line with the earliest forms of the University, it adds the thoughtful exploration of the relationship between faith and understanding, the character formation integral to a holistic understanding of education, and an innovative opportunity to acquire the capacities both for discerning one's vocation and to thriving in the world of work.
