Professor Clinical Neuroscience

Job Summary

You take up teaching assignments in the bachelor’s and master’s in Biomedical Sciences or in medicine. You develop your own research program that is closely aligned with the research priorities of the Biomedical Research Institute (BIOMED) and that gives a strong boost within the neuroscience department of clinical research in neuroscience. You use the latest developments in the field of clinical neurosciences. Hereto, you can build on a strongly internationally recognized expertise or you can demonstrate a strong research expertise and network under development.

Profile

• You have a doctoral thesis in the medical sciences or biomedical sciences or related disciplines. You have a master’s degree in medicine and any specialization. Masters degrees in biomedical sciences, bioengineering sciences or related disciplines are possible if research is clinically oriented.
• Academic staff must meet the legal language requirements for the knowledge of the teaching language (Dutch). If necessary, UHasselt offers concrete, tailor-made guidance measures to help achieve the required language level. Furthermore, you are proficient in English (written and oral).
• You can present a strong publication record within the clinical Neuroscience that is complementary to the research topics within BIOMED and the Neuroscience group of BIOMED.
• You have demonstrable expertise within clinical neuroscience that is internationally recognized and you wish to further expand this within UHasselt (BIOMED).
• You can demonstrate relevant partnerships with (inter) national research groups and / or you are willing to develop these within and outside the faculty.
• You have strong didactic qualities and are motivated to develop teaching assignments within the faculty of medicine and life sciences.
• You have experience with supervising doctoral students, master’s and / or bachelor’s students or you are prepared to further expand this.
• You have experience in successfully acquiring external research funding and you may have experience with valorization of research results.

Offer

We offer a temporary appointment as a lecturer or higher for 2 years, which can be prolonged if you are positively evaluated.
