Job Summary

Drivers operate under the direction of the Entertainment Supervisor. Primary duties will involve passenger and equipment transporting, operating, loading, unloading of flat-bed trucks, 15-passenger vans, 25-passenger buses and/or forklifts in support of the MWR program.

Major Job Activities

• Vacuum and clean interiors, and wash and polish exteriors of vehicles.
• Pick up or meet MWR teammates according to requests, appointments, or schedules.
• Deliver or pick up materials and packages.
• Provide passengers with information about the local area and points of interest.
• Test vehicle equipment such as lights, brakes, horns, and windshield wipers, in order to ensure proper operation.
• Notify supervisor and/or lead of vehicle problems.
• Follow regulations governing safe vehicle operation and ensure that passengers follow safety regulations.
• Pick up passengers at prearranged locations and on schedule.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance, such as regulating tire pressure and adding gasoline.
• Communicate with supervisor/lead via telephone in order to exchange information and receive requests location or appointment adjustments.
• Record name, date, and identification information on trip sheets, along with trip information such as time and place of pickup and drop-off.
• Complete accident reports when necessary.
• Provide passengers with assistance entering and exiting vehicles, and help them with any luggage.
• Arrange to pick up particular customers or groups at multiple locations throughout Kuwait; to include, the airport.
• Must be willing to work on holidays, short notices, all shifts, overtime and assigned to any MWR location in Kuwait. Vacation scheduling will also be dictated by mission requirements and determined independent from spouse if applicable.
• Performs other duties as required and directed by MWR Management. Duties include but not limited to: assisting other department sections to ensure mission requirements, working different shift patterns, and cross leveling into different MWR job titles and duties when directed.

Material & equipment directly used

Flat-bed truck, 15-passenger van, 25-passenger bus, fork lift, general office equipment and mobile phone. In this position there is exposure to physical and working conditions where serious accidents or injuries may occur, exposure to disagreeable noise elements and prolonged high temperatures.

Working Environment

Duties will involve the conduct of work in the outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent dust storms, and high temperatures – up to 130 degrees in the summer months. Potential exposure to chemical or biological agents could exist. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain areas is required. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. They must comply with all Fire, Safety and post policies. Normal work week is 48 hours, but must be able to work overtime or nights as required.

Physical Activities

Work may require heavy lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents.

Minimum qualifications

• Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification from a nationally/internationally accredited agency is required within 60 days of hire.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Kuwait Heavy Driver’s license.

Experience

• Forklift operator’s license a plus.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft applications to include Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Past experience in all supply activities for the receipt, storage, inventory and issue of supplies and equipment and Material Disposition Process

• Must exhibit strong organization and communication skills.
• Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.
